It took me a while to actually becoming a planner and not a pantster, but I've learned that I can solve some of my plot and character dilemmas that cause massive rewrites if I outline it all in bullet points or on 3x5 cards first. Having several projects keeps me moving forward even if I have a bad day or a rejection letter. It helps to keep working on one project for a month or two while outlining something different for me, and then the short stories and poems I write keep my inner squirrel-chasing self happy with bright, shiny ideas for short sprints. Writing every day really helps.
Thanks for the Blitz today!!!Tyrean Martinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15356604721537744361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5720082623464094535.post-6098034100081258452014-06-03T16:45:21.392+01:002014-06-03T16:45:21.392+01:00It took me a while to figure out that one, but it ...It took me a while to figure out that one, but it really helps!
No problem! :)ELAdamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11390894357209056149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5720082623464094535.post-28464682555609388432014-06-03T16:40:20.679+01:002014-06-03T16:40:20.679+01:00I agree with what you said about writing bullet po...I agree with what you said about writing bullet points before you start each scene. It's amazing how lazy I get after just a couple of days! I'm still working on that one. Lol! One thing I've never done consistently though is plot something else while I'm drafting. That's a really good idea. I'm a one project kind of person, but one thing I can do at the same time is plot one story while I draft or edit another. It would certainly help me keep up with my influx of ideas a little better.krystal janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02115542477066959046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5720082623464094535.post-67460799871627043342014-06-03T02:04:15.090+01:002014-06-03T02:04:15.090+01:00I'm on my 4th book and it hasn't gotten an...I'm on my 4th book and it hasn't gotten any easier. Truer words have never been spoken.

And you're right - you have to do what works for you. I really enjoy reading about other people's methods, and sometimes I adapt their way to my way. But I'll never be a planner or an outliner. It's not in my writing nature.

I find if I'm inspired by an idea, it'll rush out of me no matter what. Right now, the WiP I'm working on is desperate to get out. It's very exciting.Miss Colehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05014234633679291480noreply@blogger.com
