What's Up Wednesday

It's time for What's Up Wednesday, a weekly meme run by Erin L Funk and Jaime Morrow. Here's what I've been up to this past week!

What I'm reading

Um...not much (see below!)

What I'm writing

Again, see below...

What else I've been up to

For the third time in six weeks, I found myself knocked out by a ghastly flu bug. (Note to self: return immune system for refund). So I resigned myself to a week of struggling out of bed, opening my laptop to do work-related things and answer emails before dwindling into typing gobbledegook. Only it turned out to be a tiny bit more serious than flu. After no improvement for a few days, I ended up in A&E. My first trip to the emergency room gave me some traumatic material for future novels, at least...and it turns out that I apparently had some kind of unidentifiable viral infection. On the plus side, nothing serious. On the minus side, nothing to do but wait for it to go away and keep taking pain meds. Ugh. So, no laptop, no writing, and pretty much everything else was out of the question!

But I've recovered enough to return to blogging, though I'm still struggling to get back into my WIP. I've really missed writing! And reading. *cries*

(Universe, when I asked for a distraction from waiting for feedback on my MS, this was not what I had in mind...)

What inspires me

The possibility of a light at the end of this tunnel? Also, there has to be a book idea in this mess somewhere...

Unidentifiable viral infection? You're all set to write an episode of House.

  5. Oh no!! I'm so sorry you've been so sick! You have to be really, REALLY careful when asking the Universe for favors. I've made that mistake before and ended up with a few broken bones...but on the plus side...no finals. Hah! ;)

Hope you get feeling better. *sends tea and scones* *and lots of movies* :)

  8. Eeep! Sorry you're sick (AGAIN) and hope you get well soon. Glad you're at least on the road to recovery. I hate hospitals so yeah, definitely a lot of scary material there.

  9. Oh, that's terrible about the viral infection and third bout of sickness. I guess the only plus side is that at least you know the reason for it. I hope it clears up soon so you can get on with all the things you want and need to do!
